OUR FOUNDATIONAL BELIEFS

The following are foundational principles that govern how we think, plan, move, connect and love. The following truths create the DNA of our church, the reason for our movement, the power behind our love. Without these principles, our work becomes idolatrous and our religion becomes vain, useless, even destructive. If you have questions regarding these principles, and why we believe them to be true, please contact us! We promise to listen and do our best to explain.

The Bible

We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of all people and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life.

II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:21

GOD

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that the world should be saved through His Son.

I John 5:7,8Matthew 3:16,1728:19II Corinthians 13:14

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest and Advocate.

 John 1:1Hebrews 9:24-28I Corinthians 15:3,4.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for Godly living and service.

John 14:167:2615:2616:8.

The Human Condition

We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin. As a result of sin, we believe all of Creation was affected and has since been held under the curse of death, perversion and destruction. As humans we are therefore lost and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. We have strong concern for the depraved spiritual condition of not only humanity, but everything affected by the curse of sin - the environment, economics, government, etc.

Genesis 1:27Jeremiah 29:7Romans 5:12John 1:12,13.

The work of Christ

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe; and only as we receive Jesus Christ and are born of the Holy Spirit do we become children of God.

John 1:123:316.

the Church

We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head. The Church is the presence of the Light—the living Christ in the world—led, empowered and gifted by the Holy Spirit to continue His Mission.

I Corinthians 12:12-14; Romans 12Ephesians 45:23Acts 1:82:41

The Mission of God

God’s love for us in Christ is the motivation for loving people and creation. God’s love compels us to live and make decisions in accordance with His design in obedience to His Word and will. The heart of God, reflected in both the Old and New Testaments, is to create a redeemed community that loves and serves Him with all their hearts, minds, and bodies. This conviction is the foundation of our commitment to fulfill the mandate of the Great Commission. We will be a missional people, carrying the Gospel to our nation and the world.

THE SECOND COMING

We believe in the personal and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that this “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
